Ramot Polin

Ramot Polin, Israeli settlement in northwest East Jerusalem, built by Zvi Hecker in the 70’s and populated mostly by Haredi Jewish families, is an ongoing project investigating the nature of illusion, visually exploring the texture and terms of ideology. The entire neighborhood is organized upon a hill in central Ramot in a shape resembling a five-fingered hand or three-branched leaf, shaped apartment buildings incorporated in each other, creating a wide zigzag. Although innovative and provocative, the dodecahedron housing proved to be cramped, dark and monumentally impractical.

Ramot Polin was exhibited at the Swiss Embassy in Seoul, South Korea - 2022
